Combine a full-day tour visiting the ancient Mayan city of Cobá (600 to 900 AD), impressive site settled in the jungle where we will ride a bike or walk through the ruins surrounded by nature learning about the culture and the history of the place. Climb the 120 limestone steps to the top to take a look above the canopy on the second tallest mayan temple of the peninsula.
After a great time in Cobá, we will stopover in Nuevo Durango to have lunch, a Mayan village where we can have the opportunity to make our own tortillas and try tasty traditional local food cooked with organic vegetables.
We finish our day at Punta Laguna Nature Reserve where we get into the heart of the jungle to participate in a Mayan cleansing ceremony performed by a local Xaman. after being part of the traditions, we will look for monkeys in their natural habitat to then canoe across the lagoon to zip line over it (250 meters over the lagoon). Our adventure will conclude by rappelling down to swim into a natural cenote to discover the Mayan underworld considered as a sacred place by many cultures.
