COBA ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE
Discover one of the most important sites from the yucatan peninsula; and climb the second tallest mayan temple "Nojoch Muul". The Mayan ruins of this site are unique and much can be learn about the ancient Maya and the architecture of the buildings situated among several lakes. Only a few of its estimated 6000 structures have been dicovered.
The nature reserve "Otoch Ma'ax yetel Kooh" is located in the Northeastern yucatan peninsula, north of the archaeological site of Coba and South of Nuevo Xcan in the Quintana Roo state.
The dominant vegetation is medium semi-evergreen forest, which covers approximately 93% of the total area, in the different successional stages.
The site is better known for the spider monkey populations that are the main tourist attraction.
